All new smiles begin with the initial complimentary consultation!
It is imperative that you receive your orthodontic care in an environment where you feel relaxed and safe. The initial complimentary consultation will give you a chance to meet the Ladera Orthodontics team members while obtaining a comprehensive initial oral exam. It is also an opportunity to learn more about orthodontic care and discover what options for treatment are best for you or your loved one. During that initial complimentary consultation, we will:
- Carefully review all medical and dental history forms.
- Complete a comprehensive oral examination.
- Take digital X–rays and photographs.
- Determine the appropriate treatment goals
- Create an individualized and customized treatment plan and discuss all available options.
- Discuss payment plans, answer insurance related questions, and discuss any additional financial information.
The Ladera Orthodontics team is ready to address your concerns, answer your questions, and empower you to select the treatment plan that best suits your needs. For those that are eager to get things going on we can even begin treatment that same day! We don’t want you to miss any more time from work or school. Contact our office today to schedule an initial complimentary examination.
Ok, what’s the next step?
The smile that you’ve always wanted is just around the corner! Once you have had your initial consultation, you’ll schedule the “start” appointment and then the treatment is underway. This visit usually takes around an hour to 90 minutes. During this process, the team will ensure that you are relaxed and comfortable as Drs. Gire and Salmassian place your new braces.
If you select to have fully customized braces (Insignia) or Clear Aligner Therapy (CAT), such as ClearCorrect or Invisalign, the first visit consists of a digital scan of your teeth with our state-of-the-art iTero scanner. There is no radiation from this scanner. It quickly takes numerous images or pictures of your teeth and synthesizes them together to form a digital study cast. The clear aligners or customized braces (Insignia) are then ready for you at your next visit since they are fabricated from these scans. If you have already decided on your preferred treatment at your initial visit, the scan can usually be taken that same day.
Scheduling of Appointments
Adjustment appointments will occur about every four to six weeks. The Ladera Orthodontics staff will schedule your visits at times that work with your individual schedules. As part of the scheduling process, we’ll ask you what days of the week and what times are most convenient, and we always will try to accommodate those appointments.
We do understand things come up now and then, so if you’re are going to be a little late or if you have to reschedule, please call us we will do our absolute best to find something that works for you.
So when the time is right to get your dream smile, give us a call and a Ladera Orthodontics scheduler will find you a convenient time for your complimentary consultation.
Visits to your dentist while undergoing orthodontic treatment
Even though we’ll see you every six weeks or so, it does not mean that you do not have to visit your regular dentist. Actually, it’s very important for you to maintain regular general dentist visits during your care. Those braces and wires make it more difficult to floss and brush your teeth properly. A cleaning from your dentist or hygienist is a must! As a courtesy, we can make arrangements with your general dentist to ensure that regular 6-month check-ups and cleanings are maintained during your orthodontic treatment.
